Three cheers for celebrities walking down the aisle in 2012, a banner year for super-star weddings. As of August, nearly one hundred famous people took the leap and exchanged vows. Celebrity weddings pique our interests and our hearts, we wish them the very best. Read on for a brief look at some of the celebrity weddings of 2012.

Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman

Since E.T. the Extraterrestrial, the free-spirited 37-year-old Drew Barrymore has charmed our hearts and on June 2, 2012 she wed her Prince Charming, 34-year-old Will Kopelman, an art consultant. The intimate backyard garden wedding took place at Drew’s $5.7 million estate in Montecito, California. Drew wore a full length white Chanel dress with black sash designed by Karl Lagerfeld. Nearly 200 cherished friends and families witnessed the low-key nuptials. Wedding fun included a black and white photo booth and children’s play area with mini movie theater. At the reception, guests dined on fried chicken and steaks. The newlyweds rode away to their new life together in a vintage Mercedes convertible decorated with pink roses.

Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied

Academy award winning actress 31-year-old Natalie Portman married 35-year-old choreographer Benjamin Millepied on August 4th in a Jewish ceremony at a private residence in Big Sur, California. The two lovebirds met on the set of the film, “Black Swan.” Natalie wore a tea length white Rodarte dress with sheer full length arms and a crown of delicate white roses encircling her head with a pair of flirty flats. The wedding featured an ecofriendly environment featuring details such as recycled platinum and conflict-free diamond to the vegan menu at the reception. Wedding favors of wildflower seeds were given to guests. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, guests delighted in French macaroons.

Mathew McConaughey and Camilla Alves

Famous film actor 42-year-old Mathew McConaughey wed 29-year-old Brazilian model Camilla Alves on June 17th at the couple’s home in Austin, Texas. When Camilla first met Matthew in 2006, she did not know he was an actor. The Catholic ceremony spanned an entire weekend, where 120 guests enjoyed activities such as horse shoes and bean bag tossing games. Camilla shined dressed in a handmade embellished full length white lace gown designed by Ducarmo paired with a stunning diamond headband. The summer camp-like atmosphere featured 47 air-conditioned tents and guests dined on a menu of Brazilian inspired fare featuring steaks, sausages and chicken.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Soon to jump the broom are A-list uber-couple 48-year-old Brad Pitt and 37-year-old Angelina Jolie. They first met on the set of ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ in 2004 and since then have been nearly inseparable. Originally the couple boycotted marriage as sign of support for gay marriage and equality for all, but in deference to their six children who asked the question, “Why aren’t you married like Shrek and Fiona?” (From the animated ‘Shrek’ film), they decided to get hitched. Brad gave Angelina one of the most expensive watches in the world as wedding gift, a $390,000 Patek Philippe Minute Repeater. As of this writing a definitive date has not been set.
