PIC FOR SPA TIPS FOR MELooking good and feeling great on your wedding day is not limited to women; men deserve a little pampering before their big day too. Spas are a great place to go to relieve some of the stress involved with planning a wedding. Read on for a look at helpful tips and the many types of spa treatments available for men.

Face Care

All eyes will be on you on your wedding day, as wells as numerous cameras and video recording devices. Consult with your skin aesthetician regarding the best type of facial for your specific skin type. Facials provide several purposes such as promoting healthy skin, deep cleansing and addressing any skin issues. Treatments include hot towel shaves, exfoliation, oxygen infusion, chemical peels, scalp massages, deep hydration procedures, moisturizer applications, acne treatments, face masks, steam and facial massage. The benefits of a facial may include softer skin, pore minimization and reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Complete face care at least two weeks before your ceremony.

Brow Care

If your brows are wild and woolly or look like a pair of fuzzy caterpillars, consider having your eye brows neatly trimmed and shaped with tweezing or waxing by a professional spa technician. Relatively painless, this treatment takes a short amount of time. It is often recommended to have brow shaping several weeks before your wedding.

Hand and Foot

Get your hands ready for your wedding ring, holding your new spouse’s hand and shaking the hands of friends and family in the receiving line at your reception. Manicure and pedicure experts attend to your nails and cuticles for shaping and buffing to create a clean look for your wedding day. Pedicures generally consist of a warm foot soak followed by clipping and filing of the nails then removal of persistent calluses. Lastly lotion is rubbed onto the skin and a mild foot massage performed. Manicures follow a similar procedure to pedicures. Some spas offer paraffin wax dips or reflexology treatment. Schedule your manicure and pedicure the week of the wedding.

Massage

Enjoy a relaxing massage before your ceremony to help decrease anxiety, increase circulation and improve your overall sense of well-being. Choose a massage that best fits your needs, popular types of massage therapies include Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, Shiatsu, hot stone massage and sports massage. In the months leading up to your wedding day, feel free to schedule as many massages as you wish. Consult with your massage therapist for advice on when to schedule your last appointment.

Basic Spa Etiquette

Always arrive at least ten minutes early for your spa appointment. Many spas seek to create a tranquil and peaceful environment, turn off your cell phone to avoid disruptions. Before your massage, inquire if the spa offers shower facilities for clients or take a shower beforehand. Spa technicians provide valuable one-on-one services; do not forget to tip at least 15 to 20 percent.
