There are many decisions to be made as you prepare for your wedding; some involve you as a couple and others as an individual. Some might think guys fly under the radar when it comes to wedding planning when in reality the opposite is often true. With a little timely organization and a calendar reminder, your wedding may be on the journey to success and a happy ending. Read on for a look at a wedding day countdown for the groom.

10 -12 Months In Advance

The first tasks to complete when planning a wedding includes creating a budget, selecting your wedding party and choosing a reception and ceremony venue. Next, create a guest list and begin looking at honeymoon destinations.

6 – 9 Months In Advance

At this stage in your wedding planning, book your entertainment, choose an officiant, photographer and florist and confirm a caterer. It is also a good time to begin an exercise regimen and get your teeth whitened.

4 – 5 Months In Advance

Determine what you and your groomsmen will be wearing at your wedding. Buy your wedding rings and consider purchasing wedding insurance.

2 -3 Months In Advance

Be sure to mail your invitations at least eight weeks before your wedding date. If wearing tuxes, arrange for a fitting and confirm the orders. Finalize all wedding rehearsal dinner reservations.

1 – 2 Months In Advance

Find out the requirements for a marriage license in your state. Confirm the ceremony readings and songs for your wedding. If writing your own vows, this is the time to begin.

3 – 4 Weeks Before Your Wedding Day

At a month before your wedding, be sure to get your marriage license and pick up your wedding rings. Finalize all honeymoon arrangements and confirm travel plans.

1 -2 Weeks Before Your Wedding Day

Pick up your groom’s and groomsmen tuxedos and make sure they fit properly. Select your wedding transportation and confirm with all vendors the wedding date and time.

The Day Before Your Wedding Day

Prepare all wedding day payment envelopes including gratuities and designate someone for distribution. Attend your final wedding rehearsal with the officiant present.

The Wedding Day

Your big day has arrived and you can’t stop smiling. Keep relaxed and maintain your health by a eating a good breakfast and staying hydrated with plenty of fluids. If leaving directly for your honeymoon, bring a comfortable change of clothes for your getaway.
