Bridal portrait. There is a wide range of options when it comes to wedding hairstyles. Of course, you can wear any hairstyle you choose for your wedding day, select one that makes your inner and out beauty shine while looking great with your attire. Often, after selecting a gown, the next step is to choose a hairstyle that coordinates well with your dress without upstaging the overall look. Wedding hairstyles may be romantic, chic, classic, fun, simple, trendy or elaborate. Read on to learn more about wedding day hairstyles.

Classic Romantic Updo Styles

Enhance your special day with one of the most all-time popular wedding hairstyles, the updo. This hairstyle is appropriate for mid length to longer hair offering several variations that range from complex to messy. The updo includes hair that is lifted off the neck and above the shoulder. The chignon is a traditional style featuring a bun at the nape of the neck. This style is achieved by beginning with a low ponytail that is wrapped and pinned at the base. The French twist is another favorite that brings a bit of charm and class to your wedding day hairstyle by sweeping the hair to the middle or slightly off-center to one side then pinning from underneath with bobby pins. Pull tendrils down to add a romantic frame to your face.

Short Hairstyles for Weddings

Whether your hair is straight or curly, short hairstyles work well for men or women. Accentuate your short wedding day hairstyle with accessories such as hair combs, bridal tiaras, decorative pins or fresh flowers. Add volume to your short hairstyle with hair products such as mouse or gel. Use a small curling wand to give the ends of your hair a sassy flip for wedding day fun. Make sure to get a good haircut at least two weeks before your special day.

Medium to Long Hairstyles

Walk down the aisle with your long locks perfectly styled for your wedding ceremony. Long hair may be straight, curly or wavy. Style options include the updo, half-up and half down or loose. To wear your hair half-up and half down, simply pull back the section along the crown and gently gather back and tie near the crown of your head with a soft band or bobby pins. Allow your bangs to naturally layer or draw out small strands to create a soft frame effect along your face. Accentuate your long look with hair accessories such as silk flowers, barrettes, tiaras headbands and wedding veils. Add a spritz of hairspray to help hold accessories in place.
