The best time of year for a garden wedding in New York is spring and early fall when the weather is temperate and many flowers are in bloom. Most garden weddings are held outdoors. Central Park Conservatory Garden

Located in Central Park, the Conservatory Garden is actually composed of three smaller gardens representing Italian, French and English styles. The main entrance gate to the gardens once stood before the Vanderbilt mansion. The French garden features the delightful “Three Maidens Dancing Fountain. The Italianate garden showcases a 12-foot high jet fountain and two charming walkways of pink and white crab apple trees. The English garden features a tribute to the author of the book “The Secret Garden” and classic tiered hedges. The Conservatory Garden is an official Quiet Zone. The best time for a wedding is early spring through October.

New York Botanical Garden

Nestled in the Bronx, the New York Botanical Garden is a national landmark botanical garden spanning over 250 acres. Originally chartered in 1891, the New York Botanical Garden features a focus on conservation of native plants, historic preservation and garden history. For weddings, the Botanical Gardens offers a scenic backdrop consisting of 50 acres of wooded forests and rolling hillsides, a cascading waterfall and a Victorian glass house. Facilities to choose from for your wedding include the Conservatory Tent, the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, the Lillian and Amy Goldman Stone Mill and the Garden Terrace Room.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Get married at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a serene urban oasis of horticulture delights. Founded in 1910, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden seeks to connect people with the world of plants by featuring a united collection of smaller botanical gardens representing different native and exotic plant life. The Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens is a popular venue for weddings. This unique glass-walled facility features a palm tree tropical setting, exquisite fountain and outdoor terrace. The Atrium is near the Cherry Esplanade and is especially stunning during the spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

Creative Little Garden

For a small intimate wedding, consider the Creative Little Garden located in the East Village. This demure venue began in the 1940s and continues on today as a community garden. Features include a romantic path walkway, peaceful ambiance and seasonal plants tended by neighborhood volunteers.
