From sentimental to style, there are many reasons for wearing jewelry on your wedding day –in addition to your wedding ring. Make a stylish decision by wearing jewelry that enhances the overall look of your ceremony ensemble by accessorizing your bridal attire with jewelry and not detract from the beauty of your wedding band. Choose to adorn on your big day with beautiful baubles to give your outfit a little something extra or for some, ‘something blue’. Read on for more information about different types of wedding jewelry for brides.

With the exception of your wedding band and engagement ring, earrings are the most popular choice for bridal jewelry. They complement your face, complete your outfit and appear in all your wedding day photographs. Before selecting earrings, determine your hairstyle and wedding attire to coordinate the perfect pair. Types of earring include studs, drops and hoops.

Make a statement with a stunning necklace on your wedding day. The key to choosing a great necklace is coordinating the color of metal to harmonize with your dress and considering the shape of your neckline. Common necklace types include chain, choker, collar, festoon and Y-shape. Necklaces may display a single elegant pendant or charm or showcase pearls or gemstones. The most important feature of necklace is that you like it.

Grace your wrist with a chic bracelet on your wedding day. Styles of bracelets include bangles, links, cuffs, pearls, liquid silver, toggle, omega, beaded, tennis and charm bracelets. Bridal bracelets styles range the gamut from vintage to modern and are composed of materials such as gold, silver, diamonds or pearls. Bracelets are often round or oval in shape but may occur in other forms such as square or heart-shaped.

The wedding band is worn on the third finger of the left hand. Sometimes, a bride might choose to wear her engagement ring during the ceremony. If so, it is a traditional practice to move it to your right hand and wear it on the third finger before the ceremony starts so that your wedding band may go on your ring finger, the one ‘closest’ to your heart. Etiquette suggests that after the ceremony the engagement ring may be placed atop the wedding band, some are even sold as bridal sets. Note, that there are no particular rules for wearing your rings and you should choose the method that best suits your personal style and comfort level.
