feet-and-flowers-1599548Take the time to pamper your feet before or after your wedding or both. Often, the feet get overlooked for personal care during wedding planning. Reasons to pamper your feet include wearing open-toe shoes at your wedding, soreness from dancing and on your feet from ceremony to reception. Your tired tootsies may be due for a little TLC after all the hard work associated with planning a wedding. Schedule an appointment at a spa or create a do-it-yourself pampering experience for your feet. Need suggestions? Read on for ideas to pamper your feet before or after your wedding.

Let foot pains and stress melt away with a relaxing foot massage. Usually, a foot massage begins with your feet submerged in a small tub or container filled with warm water to clean and prepare your feet for your massage. After your feet are rinsed and towel-dried, your masseuse will apply a cream, oil or lotion to your feet to help soften rough spots and aid in massage technique. Next, your masseuse will begin rubbing your feet from the top of your foot to the tips of your toes. Massage helps alleviate general aches and pains.

Epsom Salt Foot Soak

Immerse your tired feet into a soothing foot soak using natural salts and minerals. Popular for DIY foot soaks are Epsom salts, a readily available over-the-counter salt product mixed with warm water to create a foot bath. Benefits of Epsom salts include relief for tired feet, softer skin and easing aches and pains of sore feet.

Give your feet the ultimate pre-wedding treat, a pedicure. Similar to a manicure, pedicures focus solely on the feet and toe nails. Suitable for males or females, pedicures may be performed at home, at a spa or salon. Treatments will vary depending on your location choice. Pedicures consist of a foot soak, massage, exfoliation, clipping, filing, and cuticle treatment concluded with an optional polish application. Benefits include softer feet, removal of dead skin, bunion and corn prevention and feeling of relaxation.

Overnight Deep Moisturizespa-1173525

Walk down the aisle with soft supple feet; before your wedding give yourself an overnight deep moisturizing foot treatment. Surprisingly easy to do, you will need a pumice stone, thick skin cream and cotton socks. To achieve best results, exfoliate your feet then pat dry. Apply a generous amount of moisturizer to feet and wear sock socks overnight. During the night, the moisturizer will absorb into your feet resulting in softer skin, especially beneficial for cracked heels.
