ProtectRingR3Each month the Great Bridal Expo interviews trusted wedding industry experts to share their knowledge and experience. This week we are featuring Cynthia Y. Davenport, an enterprise marketing analyst with State Farm. Since 1922 State Farm has been a “good neighbor” and insurance provider for car, home, family and financial needs. Check out this very informative interview.

How long have you been with State Farm and what do you like best about working for them?

My name is Cynthia Y. Davenport. I have been with State Farm for 25 years. I am an Enterprise Marketing Analyst. I have had the opportunity to experience different positions within the company. In this position, I am blessed to have a career doing something that I have a passion for.

What kind of insurance and services does State Farm offer for newly married couples?

Most newly married couples should be thinking about combining their auto and home policies together, life insurance and of course, insuring that new
wedding ring as an addition to their homeowners or renters insurance policies.

When should a newly married-couple apply for insurance?

Auto insurance isn’t your top priority when you’re newly married, but it’s a great time to combine policies with State Farm — which typically lowers your
cost, simplifies your billing, and may help you qualify for additional discounts. It’s also a good time for a broader conversation with your agent about
all your insurance needs and financial goals. You also might want to increase your life insurance coverage or change the beneficiaries on your policy –
having more life insurance could make your family’s future even more secure.

What are some ways that newly-married couples can qualify for discounts?

Insuring a single car with State Farm is already affordable. If you insure two or more automobiles in the same household, we’ll apply our multiple car
discounts to lower your insurance premium even more

What do you wish newly-married couples knew about State Farm?

Auto Insurance rates generally drop for men under age 25 when they marry. You may be able to both save money and simplify if you can consolidate all insurance policies in the household.Policy consolidation will simplify the billing process and could save you money. You may qualify for substantial discounts including:

          1. Multicar Discount — for multiple vehicles in the household
          2. Multiline Discount — for having other insurance with State Farm®

What else can you tell me about State Farm?

State Farm is a company that is able to provide all of a consumer’s insurance and financial needs. It is a company with a proven track record.

What are your best tips for newly married couple seeking insurance?

Find a local State Farm agent in your area because they can help with more than insurance. State Farm agents are free resources for financial guidance; something a lot of couples need more than anything at this stage of life.
